Advanced Animation 21.4.2025 - 25.7.2025 Johnny Lam Wee Zhe (0363436) Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTIONS Project 3 - Action Animation For the third and final project of advance animation, we are tasked with animating characters action based on references online, and it can be action such as being chased, combat etc. I decide to choose an obstacle course animation. In order to fulfil the minimum time limit, I choose two separate action and clip the two movement into one complete animation. Here are the two reference I plan to animate:   Fig 1. Jump Over Reference     Fig 2. Dive Rolling Reference Analysis The first stage of animating this final project is to do a proper analysis based on the given reference above and determine which pose is the main pose, contact and which one is the in-between. I first download two of the reference videos online and the put it in a video editor of blender. Since t...

Advanced Animation - Project 2

Advanced Animation 21.4.2025 - 25.7.2025 Johnny Lam Wee Zhe (0363436) Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTIONS Project 2 - Normal & Cartoon Jump Animation In project 2, we are task with animating two types of jumps: one would be a normal jump and another would be a cartoon jump. Normal jump is define as a more realistic jump while a cartoon jump is more outlandish with a more exaggerated stretch and squash animation. Unlike the walk cycle, the jump animation is done by using a pose to pose. That involves normal stance, getting ready, jump, reaching the highest point, fall, land and another normal stance. Fig 1. Jump Animation Once the pose has been set up, smaller adjustments will be made, especially with the movement of the arms and legs. This is also the part where anticipation is added to the jump. Adjustment will be made until the result looks good. One thing to not is that the jump would look much better and more...

Advanced Animation 21.4.2025 - 25.7.2025 Johnny Lam Wee Zhe (0363436) Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTION     Project 1 - Walk Cycle For the first project of advanced animation, we are tasked with creating a walk cycle of the animation, one animation will be a vanilla walk while the other will be a walk with an attitude. In my first attempt in the animation, I simply follow the instruction from Mr. Kamal during an online class.   Fig 1. Animation Attempt   Mr. Kamal taught us about the hip swings and how it correlates to the steps that the character takes as well as the arm swings too. There will also be an application of overlay animation to the character, and the torso rotates. Here is the first draft of the character:     Fig 2. First Draft   The first draft of the vanilla walk cycle is not great and is looking pretty stiff and the character looks a lit...

Film Studies and Cinematography 20.4.2025 Johnny Lam Wee Zhe (0363436) Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTION   PROJECT 1 - EXERCISE Exercise 1 - Bouncing Ball In the first exercise, we are tasked with creating basic ball bouncing animation on blender. There will be several ball types to choose from which will bounce in a different way and we will have edit the timing and max bounce height according to how each ball bounce. The ball types we have to animate are: beachball, bowling, pingpong, soccer and a stretch ball (plain ball animation but apply squish and stretch). Bounce description for each ball: Beachball - Big and slower bounce Bowling - Small and fast bounce Pingpong - Big and fast bounce Soccer - Moderate bounce   So for each of the ball, I animate them according to the description. Here are all the animation for each of the ball types, including the ball stretch. Beachball   Fig 1.1 Beachb...

Major Project 1 03.2.2025 - 21.3.2025 Johnny Lam Wee Zhe (0363436) Bachelor of Design in Creative Media INSTRUCTIONS   TASK 1 - PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT Major Project 1 - Gr9: 1. Proposal Developement   TASK 2 - DESIGN PROPOSITION MP1 - Gr9: 1. Task 2 - Design Proposition        PERSONAL ASSIGNMENT PROCESS Our group has three ideas to do in our project: an animation, a visual novel and a table top roleplaying game. The visual novel is immediately discourage due to the lack of project potential and it's not really enough. The animation does have potential but there a few problems with idea as members aren't as excited about the prospect as much and another member don't really have much to do as she is from immersive design. Ultimately, table top role playing gets picked.   There are few problem we have faced, two of the members are inexperienced with ttrpg and among those member, I am ...

Information Design - Final Project

Information Design 03.2.2025 - 21.3.2025 Johnny Lam Wee Zhe (0363436) Bachelor of Design in Creative Media  FINAL PROJECT - INFOGRAPHIC VIDEO ANIMATION Jump to submission files This is considered the third project for information design and the final. For this project, we are to get into a group and do both topic presentations and a short animated video as the end result. Once we found our group, we start to have discussion on what topic we should do. Everyone gets to suggest a topic to do, and everyone votes which topic to choose. We come down to three topics that stands out. On a document, we then explore each of the topic.     We did eventually ended up with another two topics that have been split: one of which is about ponzi scheme as well as introducing another topic which is how cat are domesticated twice. In order to explore those topics further, we have created the first draft of the flip presentation to explain each one of ...
