PRACTICAL

For the first week of Motion Graphics and Compositing, we are tasked with find three of our favorite motion graphics and give some explanation about the effect feature in pinterest. Here is the three motion graphics that speaks out to me.

The first motion graphics I like is this IKEA made Dribbble user named Sharmila. The repetitive pattern of the motion graphics where both the front and back side of the furnitures sets move in and out, as the letters flipped. There is a singular ceiling lamp on the side of the IKEA that move left and right as the letter rotates, which help give the illusion of the graphics orientation flipping.

The second motion graphic seems to be titled simply Embroader and is made by a Jumbla Studios. It isn't much at first glance, but what I like about this graphics is how 'smooth' the animation is. It rather difficult to explain but it's likely because a principle of animation known as the overlap is being applied to the animation in a form of a slight bounce in it's transition. I find this rather pleasing.

The third motion graphics that I admire is a motion graphic entitled Trendy Butler by dribbble user name Slava Romanov. What I really like about this motion graphic is the zoom in effect, applying the focal motion graphic type. My guess in how this effect can be achieved is through a layering effect with camera moving forward. Either that, or the graphics is an overall very large vector graphic where the graphic increases in size throughout but simply using this one technique may be unlikely.
