My name is Johnny Lam and I am born in Kuching, Malaysia. I am a student studying the Bachelors of Creative Media in Taylor’s University and I am currently 23 years old.

 What Are Your Interest?
I like to listen to music on occasion, and play games on my free time. I am also interested in special effects, especially ones related to natural disasters and horror related effects. I also have an interest in all things space. I also love dogs.

 What Do You See Yourself In Five Year?
Having a stable job and rent a pet friendly apartment, cuddling with my future pet dog.

Intro
What Is Your Artwork About? 
The artwork I want to show displays one of my interest or multiple. Most likely based on my interest in natural disasters special effects, particularly the tornado or space and dogs.

 What Emotions Are You Trying to Convey in Your Artwork?
In Awe and Astonishment as these are the emotions I have toward three of the topics I have picked.

 How Do You Want the Viewer to Interpret Your Artwork?
I want my work to show the viewer the curiosity of discovering interest and the amazement that comes with it.

 How Will These Information Help With Your Artwork?
Perhaps I can focus on the feeling of astonishment in my artwork.

 

Mood/Visual Board

These are the mood boards I have chosen for this project. All three of these mood boards are related to my interest in one way or another. The first one includes a dog and my interest in space and I really love the purple aesthetic of space. The second one includes a tornado and I can imagine a poster where I get swept up by a tornado. The third on is also a tornado with a darker mood.

DESIGN DIRECTION

Sketches

Although it is irrelevant at the moment, this is actually the first sketch that I have drawn. It was initially supposed to go with the 'creepy' vibe but this sketch is made without writing any biography nor any statement about my art.

Realizing this, I decide to sketch some more sketches, this time according to the biography that I fill in and gather relevant mood boards. Here are the sketches I have drawn according to my biography and mood board:

Digitization

After creating sketches, I start to attempt a digitized posters. I collected all the elements I need to pull off my design.

Then, I begin to combine them according to the sketch. The first poster is actually approved by Mr. Fauzi much to my surprise. For me however, the poster isn't complete and doesn't really fulfill the vision I have for the poster especially when the lighting doesn't seem to blend in yet.

Final Poster

After making considerable adjustment with the wording and a few minor changes. This is the result:

Description: ‘Create The Incredible’ is the poster of being in awe and the inspirational discovery of your own interest. The beautiful view outside the window brings out the feeling of amazement that can be shared along side a companion. Overall, this poster is about discovering your interest and creating something incredible in turn. This poster also reflects my interests which are space, dog and the beauty of natural destruction.
