LECTURE
Final project consultation weeks, there is no lecture on both weeks.
PRACTICAL CONSULTATION
After I have finished with the still image of my poster, I then proceed to
animate the poster. My initial idea is to zoom in on the poster and have the
camera fly by from the right to the left and zoom out. However, the poster
is vertical and there is nothing on either side of the poster. To do that, I
will have to add additional materials to it which will take awhile. I decide
to went ahead anyway and animate the few essential elements.
Deciding on animating the black hole, I try to look up on how to create a
loop but I ended up just using the puppet tool taught during week 10
lecture. I then stumble upon this video:
Watching this video, I realize that I can apply what this person use to make
the building light blinks can be use for the stars in space. So I copy what
is taught here to the best of my ability and it work. Although, the star
blinking is very subtle and you can only notice it if you are aware the star
is even blinking.

Seeing how unsatisfied with how static the poster is despite the animation.
I decide to have the camera zoom up at the start and slowly zooms out as the
video progresses.
The next thing I do is to look up on the camera movement. I then remember
this video that I found while looking for tutorial on how to animate still
images. I apply a few of the techniques here for camera movement.
During the process of creating the video getting zoomed out, I realize that
I can add some sort of shaky effect as if the camera is affected due to
close proximity to the black hole. So I look it up and use this video
tutorial to apply the shaky camera effect.
While I play the video, I realize that the beginning of the scene is rather
long with only the camera shaking and figured that I could add something
zoom by. I decide to add a comet that I have downloaded from Youtube. Here
is the comet I use:
I also look up on how to remove green screen in Adobe After Effects. This is
the video I found:
Once all that is done, all that left to do is to animate the text of the
poster. I decide to browse through ideas on how to animate the text and
found this video which I find quite suited for the occasion.
After following all the tutorials, this is how my work file looks
like:

Once I am done with the animation, I move onto the next process of the
animation. Adding sounds. Here is the
link to the website where I download
royalty free sound effect and music.
There are some of the sound effect that isn't to my liking so I edit the audio using an audio editing app, Audacity.

After adding and readjusting the sounds and music, I then have the final result:

Title: Create The Incredible
‘Create The Incredible’ is the poster of being in awe and the inspirational discovery of your own interest. Just like it’s still image counterpart, there is a beautiful view outside the window that inspires the feeling of amazement. The video starts out with having close up shot with space and the blackhole. Then the camera draws back into the safety behind a solid structure. A normally scary experience suddenly turns to a sight of awe from a safe distance.
I consider this process of the project is the most interesting and also the most challenging. Considering that we are only taught Adobe After effects once and only know the basics of After Effect, we have to look up on tutorial on YouTube to figure out how to pull of the vision we have for our self title. From there, I have learn some interesting things such as making the camera shaky and moving and using the glow effect. I have also notice that there are also some coding required to pull off some of the effects. Luckily, the code is provided and I just have to copy and paste it. I have also get to learn about the slider control. I only wish that we get to learn more about After Effects in future classes.
