LECTURES
On the tenth week of Digital Photography and Imaging, we are introduced to the
basics of Adobe Aftereffects. Adobe Aftereffects is an 2.5D animation program
used for animation, visual effects, and motion picture compositing. This
program also allows you to edit imagery which you are able to combine layers
of imagery and video into the same scene.
Motion graphics animation works by manipulating vector graphics and rasterized
art on order to tell a story. Physical based media can be included in the form
of images and video.
When compositing video, it is important to rename layers according to the
content of said layers as this will help your to pick the right layers that
you want to edit. Layers will have to be organized using other platforms such
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustration. Adobe Aftereffects does not embed
media on to its file, rather they link to the media. In other words, deleting
the media or moving the media elsewhere result in missing media if you enter
the Aftereffects file.
TUTORIAL
PRACTICAL
For this week's practical, we are task with animating elements from the Adobe
Photoshop file and upload them on Youtube.
Fig 1. Provided Image That Need to be Animated
Following the tutorial video and Mr. Fauzi's advise, I create the following
animation:
Ever since I was a young teen, I have already first heard of the existence
of adobe After Effect and I had wanted to learn to use it for quite
sometime. Now that I have learn to somewhat use After Effect, the childhood
dream has came true with this exercise. I had fun working with moving
several elements of this composition. It is also quite interesting to see
what the other's come up with, especially ones that I find rather
comedic.
